Sustainability Statement

The University of Melbourne's Professional Staff Conference is proud to be an ACTS 3-Star Certified sustainable event, the highest rating achievable through the Australasian Campuses Towards Sustainability certification program, independently verified before every event.

As part of walking the talk, the Professional Staff Conference follows the University's principles for ethical and sustainable consumption, actively demonstrating our commitment to the Sustainability Plan 2030 and UoM Strategy 2030's vision of a Resilient University at the forefront of environmental, social and governance practice.

In 2026, our sustainability commitments include:

• Fully vegetarian catering sourced locally within 100 miles
• Reusable crockery, cutlery and cups with no disposables, biocups or biodegradables
• Paperless event with all content delivered digitally via the conference app
• Seeded paper name tags attendees can take home and plant
• Eco-friendly transport encouraged for all attendees
• Food waste diverted through OzHarvest
• Sustainable materials, suppliers and giveaways throughout
• Presenter gifts sourced from Welcome to Country, a not-for-profit Indigenous owned organisation
